Meet Athena!

~ Submitted by the Page County Animal Shelter

Page Valley News highlights adoptable pets

from the Page County Animal Shelter to showcase their personality.

This is Athena!

Athena is an approximately 3-year-old female. She was brought to the shelter after her previous owner made the tough decision to leave her with us. Due to unfortunate, personal circumstances, it was found that Athena was in need of a new home.

Athena has had a rough time adjusting to the shelter environment and feels the most at ease under her blanket. Because of this, we’ve tried not to pry too much. From what we do know, she is sweet and shy.

If you’re gentle enough with her, you can coax her out of hiding and she’ll happily purr and ask for attention, even if she does it while holding herself low to the ground. She has this sweet, round face and these large, beautiful eyes.

Despite being shy, she has never tried to swat, hiss, growl, or bite. She just needs somebody to take her home where she can feel at ease again.

If you’d like to meet and visit with Athena,

please send the shelter an email inquiry or call the Page County Animal Shelter at (540) 778-2101. Please keep an eye out for our email reply. Sometimes they find their way to the spam/junk folder.
