from the Page County Animal Shelter to showcase their personality.

This is Willow!

Willow is a four-year-old male, who has been neutered and tested for tick borne diseases and heart worm. He found himself at the shelter after he was seized by animal control. He was left outside in freezing conditions along with a smaller “pittie” girl. For four long years, Willow’s world was small, but now he’s able to start a new journey.

Willow is a sensitive soul with a big heart, but he carries the weight of his past. He’s wary of prolonged eye contact and doesn’t like being touched on his back. But beneath that guarded exterior is a dog who wants to believe in love. Once he decides you’re safe, his walls come down, revealing a goofy, playful boy who just wants to be near his people. His tail wags a little faster, his eyes soften, and he starts to believe that real kindness really does exist.

Willow needs a patient, understanding home. One that lets him set the pace and reassures him gently. With time and patience, he will prove that even the most broken hearts can learn to trust again.
