LURAY, June 25 — Performing Arts Luray (PAL) is thrilled to announce a generous $10,000 donation to the Barbara & George Lawton Jazz Series at the Rebecca J. Graves Center for the Performing Arts, located in the heart of downtown Luray.
Established in 2024 by longtime jazz patrons Barbara and George Lawton, the Jazz Series was created to bring world-class jazz artists to Luray and Page County – making top-tier performances accessible to local audiences without traveling to major cities.
Over the past year, PAL’s stage has welcomed internationally renowned performers such as Nat Adderley Jr., Santi Debriano, Lew Tabackin and Bobby Sanabria, offering unforgettable evenings of music in an intimate, acoustically rich setting.
“This generous donation by the Lawton family ensures that the PAL will continue to bring incredible musicians to Luray – the kind of talent you’d expect to see in New York City,” said Bonnie Anthony, Vice President at PAL. “It’s a gift to the entire community.”
The next featured performance in the Lawton Jazz Series will showcase legendary jazz guitarist Rodney Jones on Saturday, August 9, 2025. A world-class musician and educator, Jones has performed with icons including Dizzy Gillespie, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, and Madonna.
All performances take place at the Rebecca J. Graves Center for the Performing Arts, home of Performing Arts Luray, located at 1 E. Main Street, Luray, VA 22835.
