Age 102, Harrisonburg, Va.
Alice Lucille Judd Baugher, 102, of Harrisonburg and formerly of Elkton, passed away August 21, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Lucille was born June 2, 1922, near Elkton, and was the daughter of the late Carl Dewey and Maudie Mae Good Judd.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl D. “Dick” Judd, Jr. and a sister, Nelma Stair.
She was a 1940 graduate of Shenandoah High School and a longtime member of the Bethel United Church of Christ near Elkton. She and her husband operated Rinacas Corner Grocery for a number of years and she later worked at 7-11, Mick or Mack and Sears & Roebuck. She retired from the Shenandoah IGA.
On December 23, 1940, she married Roy C. Baugher, Sr., who preceded her in death on November 1, 1998. Together they worked the family farm and owned and operated Baugher Brothers Furniture for many years.
Lucille is survived by sons, Roy. C. Baugher, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Shenandoah, Craig Baugher and wife, Patty of Elkton; daughters, Donna Sellers and husband, Willie of Elkton, Lisa Baugher Morris and husband, Steve of Goldsboro, NC; a sister, Carolyn “Snooky” Bauserman and husband, Roger of Elkton; grandchildren, Roy C. Baugher III, Brandon Baugher, Jeremiah Baugher, Jacob Baugher, Joel Baugher, Andrew Baugher, Aaron Morris, Trevor Morris, Evan Sellers, Ethan Sellers, as well as great-grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Addison, Taylor Ann, Hannah, Olivia, Carley, Nicole and Nolan.
A Funeral Service will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Bethel United Church of Christ with Pastor Dan Bassett officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2024, at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.
