Ann Allan Amend Holsinger, 74, of Luray, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
She was born on September 30, 1950, in Altoona, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Amend II and Edith Allan Lester Amend.
Ann graduated from Radford College in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Luray, where she served on the Altar Guild and participated in the Heavenly Fibers Knitting Group. She was also a life member of the Luray Volunteer Rescue Squad, a former Senior State President of the Virginia Society Children of the American Revolution, and a member of the Shenandoah River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
On August 28, 1973, she married Chester Bradley Holsinger, who preceded her in death on September 7, 2008.
She is survived by her three children, James Joseph “Buck” Holsinger and wife Amanda of Broadway, Chester Bradley “Brad” Holsinger and wife Carol of Luray, and Virginia “Jenny” Holsinger Jeffries and husband Nolan of Luray. She is also survived by a sister, Virginia Amend Browne of Luray; a brother, Joseph Henry Amend III and wife Katherine of Rockingham; and five grandchildren, George, Alex, C.J., Helen, and Elizabeth.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, at Christ Episcopal Church, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Peter Fraser-Morris.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Luray Volunteer Rescue Squad or the Christ Episcopal Church Memorial Endowment Fund.
