SKYLINE DRIVE, Oct. 20 — Delaware North, a global hospitality and entertainment company, has announced the opening of the newly constructed Blackrock Cottage building at Big Meadows Lodge, featuring modern accommodations with rustic elements in the heart of Shenandoah National Park.
The Blackrock Cottage building offers guests a choice between two inviting room types: the Premium Room with two queen beds, and the Accessible Premium Fireplace Room with one king bed. Both options are thoughtfully designed to provide a relaxing retreat after a day of adventure in the iconic Shenandoah National Park. Each space is equipped with modern amenities, including air conditioning, a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower, television, Wi-Fi, mini-refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, allowing guests to unwind with all the comforts of home while surrounded by natural beauty.
The rescheduled ribbon cutting of the new Blackrock Cottage will have special meaning for local first responders and will bring closure to a more than three-year effort to reconstruct the historic building after it was claimed by an early morning fire on April 18, 2022. The blaze caused more than $500,000 in damage, claiming a maintenance building, a vehicle and the Blackrock Cottage.
