Bonnie Lucy Sharp, 70, of Staunton, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
She was born on August 24, 1954, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Jacob Elijah Cook and Evelyn Frances Nichols Cook.
Bonnie graduated from Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center, where she earned her GED. She had worked as a sales clerk for several retail companies, including Walmart and the Luray Craft Center. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Staunton.
Bonnie enjoyed shopping, reading and watching TV, especially her soap operas. She was an avid animal lover, with a great affection for dogs and cats.
She is survived by a son, Hunter Len Nauman of Stanley; and a granddaughter, Katie Nauman. She was preceded in death by a son, Jacob Elijah Nauman; and her companion, Mathew Bernhardt.
Bonnie’s siblings include: three brothers, Charles Eugene Cook, Walter Lee Cook and Robert E. Shifflett; two sisters, Elizabeth N. Johnson and Edna Mae Shifflett; a stepbrother, Shannon Cook; and two stepsisters, Frances Gochenour and Margarete Morris.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, at the Bradley Funeral Home.
Visitation will be followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. at the Huffman Family Cemetery in Luray, conducted by Evangelist Doug Gochenour.
Memorial contributions may be made to her son, Hunter, to help with expenses.
