Boundary case

Big Meadows Lodge

November 14, 1964 — The Virginia Sky-Line Co. has filed a petition in Page County Circuit Court seeking an order to set aside the statute of limitations on real estate and personal property taxes until a two-county boundary controversy is settled. The petition was filed Saturday and names Madison and Page counties as respondents. According to John M. Swetnam, attorney for the Sky-Line Company, the petition is a technical instrument “setting forth the facts in the case” and seeking to delay the final effective date of the tax in order that the company may seek an adjustment after Dec. 31. The Virginia Sky-Line Co. is the center of a controversy between Page and Madison counties. Both counties are seeking to tax real estate and personal property at Big Meadows on Skyline Dive in Shenandoah National Park.
