Age 75, Elkton, Va.
Brenda Lorene “Kisling” Yancey, 75, of Elkton, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024 at her home. She was born February 21, 1949 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Oliver R. Kisling, Sr. and Helen Frances “Good” Kisling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Danny Ray Kisling and Oliver Richard “Ricky” Kisling, Jr.
Brenda loved gardening and had a green thumb. She canned food, fixed meals, stacked wood; whatever needed to be done she did. She was a hard-working mother and loved her family very much. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Howard “Dicky” Meadows and wife, Kay of Shenandoah, John David Meadows and wife, Debbie of Elkton, Ralph Todd Meadows and wife, Denise of Crimora; longtime companion, Roland Botkin; step-children, Ricky Yancey, Junior Yancey and Misty Yancey, all of Elkton; her sister, Joyce Stepp and husband, Raymond of Shenandoah; brothers, Harold W. Kisling and Norman Scott Kisling, both of Elkton; grandson, John David Meadows, Jr.; numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
A Graveside Service will be conducted 11 a.m., Thursday, October 24, 2024 at St. Peter’s Cemetery with Pastor Eddie Byers officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, Va.
