Brownie Elizabeth Foster, 87, of Stanley, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 18, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 9, 1938, in Stanley and was a daughter of the late Otis Franklin Cubbage and Rosie Etta McCoy Cubbage.
Brownie was a member of the Riverview Independent Gospel Church in Stanley.
On October 18, 1958, she married Thomas Leroy Foster Sr., who died on July 17, 2024.
Brownie is survived by a daughter, Robin Foster of Stanley; a son, Timmy Foster Jr. of Stanley; two brothers, Billy Cubbage and Clifton Cubbage, both of Stanley; two sisters, Katie Cubbage of Stanley, and Charlotte Dean of Shenandoah; a brother-in-law, Earl Cubbage of Springfield; four grandchildren, Steven Courtney and wife Anna of Broadway, Amber Shenk and husband Brad of Stanley, Bo Courtney and wife Jemily of Manassas, and T.J. Foster of Stanley; and two great-grandchildren, Wendy and Micah Courtney.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Florence Cubbage.
Services are planned for a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by The Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
