LURAY, Oct. 18 — For the second-straight week, junior running back Cason Bryant has led Luray’s ground attack, racking up 218 yards in two games. The ground-based offense of the Bulldogs’ football team has leaned on the two-year starter in the absence of sophomore running back Ryan Jenkins, who has been absent from the lineup but normally splits snaps with Bryant.

On Oct. 11 at Madison, Bryant rushed for 139 yards and four touchdowns, despite a 48-33 district loss for the Bulldogs. The junior again lead Luray’s ground game last Friday night with 79 yards on 14 carries in a 42-0 district loss to Strasburg.

Luray (0-2, 1-6) hosts Central (1-1, 2-5) this Friday night, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. The Falcons have a deceiving record, as last year’s Class 2 state runner-up was forced to forfeit several games for a rules violation involving a transfer student.

The Bulldogs conclude the season in November by traveling to Clarke on Nov. 1 and hosting rival Page County (0-2, 2-5) in their regular-season finale on Nov. 8.
