Age 28, Stanley, Va.
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Cassie Nichole Hutton, age 28, on October 15, 2025.
Cassie was born and raised in Stanley, Virginia, where her vibrant spirit, infectious smile, and generous heart brought light, love, and laughter to everyone who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of Jamie and Brandy Rickard, and the late John “Mickey” Hutton.
Cassie is survived by her grandparents, Danny and Dixie Waugh, and Carolyn Hutton. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Heather and husband Jeremiah Knight, and Brittany and husband Bryan Frymyer, as well as many adored nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Ricky Courtney, Mike Hutton, Beverly Hansbrough Good, and Leon and Kay Rickard.
Cassie was a proud graduate of Page County High School, where she was a standout member of the Girls’ Softball team. She helped lead the team to back-to-back state championships in 2014 and 2015. In a moment that perfectly captured her passion and dedication, Cassie received her high school diploma on the Radford University softball field in 2015. She went on to graduate from Radford University in 2019 and was most recently employed at Massanutten Resort.
Beyond her accomplishments, Cassie will be remembered for her compassionate heart and boundless love — especially for animals. Her silver Labrador, Ranger, was her pride and joy. Their bond was extraordinary, and Ranger was not just a pet but a true companion and source of comfort and happiness in her life.
Cassie’s kindness touched every life she encountered. She had a gift for making others feel seen, loved, and valued. Her legacy of warmth, strength, and compassion will live on through all who were blessed to know her.
Though her time with us was far too short, the impact she made is everlasting.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 17, at the Blue Ridge Pentecostal Church.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, at the church. Burial will be in the Stanley Adventist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Page County Animal Shelter.
Because of limited parking, the family is encouraging those attending the service to car pool.
Arrangements are being handled by the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.

Brandy and Jamie, My heart, my thoughts and my prayers go out to you and your family.
God Bless You,
Danny
