November 20, 1889 — In the county court last week Silas Johnson was convicted of breaking into and robbing Messrs. Geo. L. Kite and Co.’s store at Marksville and sentenced to the penitentiary for three years. It will be remembered that the crime was committed several weeks ago. Johnson soon after left the state and was brought to this place from Harrisonburg upon requisition.

John Campbell was convicted as an accessory to the robbing of Mr. Martin Strickler’s store at Leaksville, and sentenced to the penitentiary for two years.

William Knight was convicted of assault and battery upon Geo. Copperstone at Milnes. Fined $10 and costs.
