Crystal Sue Whittaker McCarthy, 54, of Luray, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
She was born on December 18, 1970, in Front Royal and was a daughter of Johnny Whittaker and Esther Sue Atkins Whittaker of Luray.
Crystal worked at Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg for 11 years, serving as director.
On September 16, 1995, she married Francis Joseph “Joe” McCarthy, who survives.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Crystal is survived by a son, Triston McCarthy and husband A.J. of Waynesboro; and a sister, Jessica Whittaker and husband Dema Terzeman of Luray.
Services are planned for a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by The Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
