Delilah Maxine Dovel Viands

Age 84, Manassas, Va.

Delilah Maxine Dovel Viands, 84, of Manassas, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at English Meadows Manassas Campus.

She was born on May 20, 1940, in Stanley and was a daughter of the late Ezra Dovel and Beulah Housden Dovel.

Delilah worked for the National Imagery and Mapping Agency as a Maintenance Operation Specialist, retiring with 25 years of service. She was a member of the Leake’s Chapel Church of the Brethren in Stanley.

On Feb. 21, 1959, Delilah married Lewis Lynwood Viands, who died on June 11, 2020.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Viands and wife Jaylynn of Clifton, and Stephen Viands of Centreville; five brothers, Bobby Dovel, Earl Dovel and Charles Dovel, all of Stanley, and Randolph Dovel and Roger Dovel, both of Shenandoah; three grandchildren, Michael Andrew Viands and wife Taylor, Nicholas Viands and wife Nuzhat, and Jessica Gogolin and husband Andrew; and three great-grandchildren, Grayson, Wesley and Ayana.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, D. Louise Maher and G. Kathleen Shomo; and two brothers, Roy Dovel and Ervin Dovel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon on Thursday, May 15, at the Leake’s Chapel Church of the Brethren by Pastor Tracy Shifflett, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Burial will be in the Leake’s Chapel Cemetery in Stanley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leake’s Chapel Church of the Brethren, Stanley, Va. 22851.

Arrangements are being handled by The Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
