Doris Ann Buracker Kirtley, 79, of Stanley, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living in Luray.
She was born on March 14, 1944, in Harrisonburg and was a daughter of the late Lester Franklin Buracker and Laura Virginia Cubbage Buracker.
Doris loved life and God. Her favorite saying was to be humble and kind to everyone.
On May 27, 1961, she married William Leroy “Billy” Kirtley Sr., who died on June 6, 2013.
She is survived by a son, William Leroy Kirtley Jr. and fiancée Donna Gochenour of Stanley; a daughter, Lisa Ann Crawford and husband Darrell of Elkton; a brother, Delmas Franklin Buracker of Stanley; four grandchildren, Chris Dinges, Dakota Burke, Shannon Comer and Katie Burke; a special niece, Lesley Pettit, and Donna Davis, who came to visit her frequently.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Marie Cubbage, Mary Kathleen Taylor and Phyllis Jane Turner.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Tony Cubbage. Burial will be in the Graves Chapel Cemetery in Stanley.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, at the funeral home.
