February 20, 1986 — The screen at the former Foxfire Drive-In Theatre south of Luray on U.S. 340 was taken down recently, marking the end of an era that began in the early 1950s, when the business opened as the Page Drive-In.
Owner Chuck Bowen noted that side screens were erected in the 1960s to accommodate wide- screen films. Bowen leased the theatre in 1976 and purchased the business in 1978.
No films have been shown there since the 1983 season.
