Age 71, Shenandoah, Va.

Elaine Faye Comer, 71, of Shenandoah, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born October 1, 1953 in Page County and was the daughter of the late Freeman E. and Lucille Campbell Cubbage.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Freeman “Salty” Cubbage, Jr., Journey A. “Buster” Cubbage; sisters, Maxine Cubbage and Louise Mongold.

Elaine was a member of the Shenandoah Assembly of God. She was a caregiver for her grandchildren. She loved cooking and cleaning. She worked at Wrangler, AMP Incorporated, RMH Medical Center and Tastee Freeze. Elaine loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. They were her world. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Elaine is survived by her husband, William “Keith” Comer; sons, Fuzzy Cardin and wife, Amy of Shenandoah, Ricky Cardin of Stanley; daughters, Tanya McInturff and husband, Ben of Shenandoah, Wendie Shank and husband, Chris of Shenandoah, Vicky Lam and husband, Chad of Stanley; sister, Diane Lowe; 6 grandchildren, Abigail McInturff, Jackson McInturff, Zack Cardin, Jordan Cardin, Lucas Cardin and Isaiah Lam; special nieces, Jennifer Orman and Avrey Orman; and four great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be conducted 11 a.m., Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the Shenandoah Assembly of God with Pastor Carter Dean officiating. Burial to follow at Mt. Lebanon Church Cemetery in Shenandoah.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, Va.
