May 13, 1961 — Willie Housden, 55, farmer of the Ingham section, suffered broken bones, shock and other injuries Tuesday afternoon during a thunderstorm when his plow horses became scared and pinned him against a tree. Housden is in the Rockingham Memorial Hospital with several broken ribs, cuts and bruises. The electric storms Tuesday in the south end of the county were quite severe and hail as large as marbles fell in some sections. In the Ingham section the storms were unusually severe. Mr. Housden was plowing with two horses when the horses became scared at them thunder and lightning and bolted. It was better than an hour before Mr. Housden was found by neighbors in the field.
