Age 82, Elkton, Va.
Garland Allen Lam, 82, of Elkton passed away November 12, 2023 in Harrisonburg. Mr. Lam was born April 30, 1941 in Page County, and was the son of the late Leaty and Gracie Lam.
He was a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and a member of the NRA. He worked at Elkton Garment Company for 28 years and retired after 20 years with Valley Pool in Waynesboro.
Garland was a devoted husband and loyal friend, who will be missed by all those who loved him.
On August 5, 1968 he married Alice Lawson Lam, who survives. Also surviving is a brother, Earmon Lam; sister-in-law, JoAnne Lam; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special great-great niece, Ella Lam, who he called “Sweetie”. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Joseph, Connie, and Jerry Lam; brother-in-law, Billy Lam and sisters, Alpha Lam and Betty Lam.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Elkton with Rev. Debbie Powell and Pastor Eddie Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.
