Gary Richard Greenwood, 67, of Stanley, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
He was born on November 12, 1957, in New York and was a son of the late Gideon Richard Greenwood and Louise May Saminsky Greenwood.
Gary had worked as a respiratory therapist at Page Memorial Hospital and at Prince William Medical Center. He was a member of the Bethlehem Independent Christian Church in Stanley and the Band of Brothers men’s fellowship.
Gary is survived by his wife, Tammy Sue Chrisman Greenwood of Stanley; a son, Dean Greenwood of Stanley; his stepdaughter, Michelle Dee Middleton of Luray; a sister, Gail Beckenstein of Malta, NY; and a brother, Gregg Greenwood of Winchester.
Services are planned for a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by The Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
Gary, we were long time friends growing up on Ave A. In Schenectady NY. I have many memories of our childhood adventures! I’ll miss you in this life, but will join you in 27 years! Wait for me!! You are and always will be my friend!
