Age 62, Luray, Va.
Gilbert Seal, 62, of Luray, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
He was born on September 19, 1961, in Luray and was a son of the late Leo Cletus Seal and Evelyn Ellen Schetrompf Seal.
Gilbert worked as a forklift operator for Wrangler for 40 years and at Hickory Hill Farms for 17 years. He was a member of the Broadhead Archery Club, serving as president for more than 20 years, and the Old Hollow Hunting Club, serving as president since 1995. He was also a member of the New Market Eagles.
On May 24, 2002, he married Dorothy Mae “Dot” Seal, who died on October 9, 2019.
He is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Vaught and husband Chris of Front Royal, and Joanie Lentz and husband Jamie of Luray; a brother, Donald L. Seal of Luray; a sister, Norma Jean Gray; and five grandchildren, Natalie Wilson and husband Michael, Katlyn Lentz and fiancé Hayden Campbell, Christian Lentz, Matthew Lentz and Lucas Vaught.
A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor Donnie Lam. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray. Following the service, a celebration of life will be held at the New Market Eagles.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at funeral home.
