November 13, 1986 — Luray fullback Jackie Good captured Luray’s single-season rushing record with a 212- yard, three-touchdown performance in the Bulldog’s 28-0 victory over visiting Page County Saturday night.

Good surpassed the previous record of 1,404 — set by Dale Mayes in 1983 — on an 11-yard run midway through the fourth quarter. He ended the campaign with 1,462 yards.

Mayes still holds Luray’s career rushing mark of 3,891 yards.

The Bulldogs overcame three first-quarter turnovers to key the win and finish 7-2-1. They lost an opportunity to advance to the regional playoffs Friday night when Madison whipped Stuarts Draft, 41-14.
