Age 90, Shenandoah, Va.
Harry Edward “Harold” Turner, 90, of Shenandoah, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Turner was born November 15, 1934, in Page County, Va., and was the son of the late Ollie Vernon Turner. In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by daughters, Kathy Sue Correa and Nancy May Shifflett; a sister, Margaret Comer, and a brother, Jennings H. Turner.
On November 15, 1958, he married Peggy Ann Shenk Turner, who also preceded him in death on April 30, 2018.
Harold served our country with the United States Navy where he sailed the Caribbean and many other world locations. He owned and operated a truck driving company for several years, later going to work for Rocco as a feed driver and North and South Transportation. Harold enjoyed listening to and playing bluegrass music, especially playing the guitar and bass fiddle. His greatest love was his family and getting to spending time with them.
He is survived by a son, Wayne Turner and companion, Lori Dofflemyer of Elkton; daughters, Connie F. Turner Cave and husband, Doug of Shenandoah, and Judy K. Hinegardner of Elkton; brother, Robert G. “Bob” Turner and wife, Dolores of Clifton Forge; sister-in-law, Betty Turner of Shenandoah; six grandchildren, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.
