PCHS senior just over a minute off winner’s pace in three-mile run

WOODSTOCK, Aug. 30  — Page County High School senior Aaron Hensley placed fourth in the boys division of the 12th annual Central High School Cross Country Invitational held on Saturday, Aug. 30 at Fairview Park in Woodstock.

Hensley finished just over a minute behind the winner with a time of 16:41.1 in the three-mile run. Madison County’s Evan Roberts won the event in 15:35.6.

Last November, Hensley posted an 11th place finish among 102 runners in the VHSL Class 2 state cross country championships held at Virginia Tech. He became the first male cross country runner from Page County High School to earn all-state honors since 2006. 

Hensley is now preparing to compete in the Augusta Invitational this weekend at Wilson Memorial High School at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13.
