LURAY, Sept. 13 — Running back Ryan Jenkins is off to a solid start in his sophomore season for the Luray Bulldogs, rushing for 366 yards and three touchdowns through three games.

Jenkins has lead the Bulldogs in rushing in two of three games this season. In both games, he exceeded the century mark, with 108 yards and a touchdown against East Rockingham in the season opener, and 174 yards at William Monroe on Friday night, along with two TDs. The sophomore rushed for 84 yards against Buffalo Gap.

Early in the season, Big No. 44 is averaging 122 yards per game, about 6.5 yards per carry, and one touchdown per outing.

Jenkins, along with junior running back Cason Bryant, make for a great one-two punch by the run-heavy Bulldogs. Luray is now 1-2 on the season after a 35-6 beat down of the Dragons on the road Friday night. The previous week, Luray was on the receiving end of the beating, as the Bison came into town and took a 47-7 win. Luray lost a heartbreaker in the final 30 seconds of the opener at East Rock.

Next up, Luray (1-2) hosts Stuarts Draft (2-1) from the Shenandoah District at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20.
