Food Service Cashier/Cook

Luray Caverns is currently seeking energetic and motivated individuals to join our team as a Food Service Cashier/Cook.

Job Description – The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Greet guests, answer menu questions, make suggestions, and provide a pleasant, customer-focused experience
• Take accurate orders and effectively communicate those orders to the prep staff
• Conduct sales transactions on a cash register, collect payments by cash or credit card, and make change, if necessary
• Stock supplies and contribute to inventory management
• Assist with upkeep of dining and work areas to include clearing and cleaning tables, sweeping and mopping floors, trash removal, and other cleaning duties, as needed
• Assist with the preparation of menu items using a grill, oven, fryer, and other kitchen appliances

• A neat and professional appearance
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to work well independently or within a group
• Basic math skills, money handling skills
• The ability to lift up to 30lbs. at one time
• The ability to bend, push/pull, reach above and below the waist
• The ability to stand for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced environment
• A willingness to work weekends and holidays
