The Town of Stanley is now accepting applications for the position of Police Chief. Stanley consists of a population close to 1,700 residents and has a force of five police officers, which one is a resource officer along with two pat-time officers.

The Police Chief will oversee police administration, patrol, investigations, communications, and a training program for the Stanley Police Department. They will also participate in mutual aid agreements with the Page County Sheriff’s Dept. and other local Police Departments.

The candidate will be innovative, provide quality leadership, demonstrate thorough knowledge of community-oriented law enforcement techniques and concepts. They must also manage the Department budget, create and maintain an environment of morals and professionalism within the Department and enforce Town ordinances. The Chief will work side-by-side with residents and community organizations, service providers and regional partners to reduce crime. Applicants must have a distinguished career with extensive experience in law enforcement. After hours response (within 30 minutes) to emergencies is required for this position.
