Assistant Superintendent Public Works
Starting Salary – Dependent on Qualifications

(benefits valued at ~$20,000 – $30,000 annually)
The Town of Luray is seeking an outstanding individual to serve as our next Assistant Superintendent of Public Works. This position will supervise full-time and part-time staff to manage, direct, and coordinate the construction of improvements to, and maintenance of, roads, public rights-of-way, water distribution, sewer collection, buildings and grounds, and solid waste collection within the Public Works Department.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Superintendent of Public Works. This is a full-time position that requires response to after-hours emergency situations and weather conditions. Prior experience with water distribution systems, sewer collection systems, road construction, maintenance of traffic, and safety regulations required. The ability to develop and communicate work plans and schedules to staff is imperative.
A combination of education and experience in public works will be considered, along with individual qualification and certification. A Virginia CDL Class A or B is required to be obtained in 12 months. This is considered an essential position and requires physically demanding work in adverse weather conditions.
