Wastewater Operator

The Town of Stanley is now accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Operator. Duties include conducting tests and analysis that are essential to the operation of the plant, making minor repairs to motors, valves, pumps and other plant maintenance, maintain logs of all pertinent operational events and chemicals used, and records readings from meters and instruments, checks controls, switches, pumps and other equipment as directed, cleans all equipment on a routine basis, cleans, hauls, loads and provides labor service when needed, keeping of daily inventory of all chemicals, supplies, etc. and able to complete reports to State Agencies in a timely manner.

Must hold Class 1, 2 or 3 wastewater license or able to obtain license 18 months after employment. Salary depending on qualifications. Will be required to work some weekends, after normal working hours, and Holidays. Must be able to lift 50 pounds repetitively throughout daily shift and must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
