Age 86, Timberville, Va.
John Monroe Good, 86, of Timberville, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Sentara RMH Medical Center.
Mr. Good was born on September 6, 1938 in New Market, and was a son of the late Wilbert Preston and Irene Pearle (Coffman) Good. John attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Stanley. He retired from Rockingham Construction after 52 years. Mr. Good was a Pastor and Associate Pastor for several churches during his 40-year ministry.
On August 20, 1961 he married the former Margaret Preston Yarber, who preceded him in death on April 27, 2024.
Mr. Good is survived by his children, Larry M. Good and wife, Cindy of Timberville, Teresa D. Ritchie and husband, Ralph of Broadway, and Ann M. Smith of Timberville; siblings, George Stuart Good of New Market, Mary C. Conley; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; caregiver for several years, Lita Ruddle and his beloved dogs Yappy and Bruster.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Good was preceded in death by a brother, David Lee Good.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Fellowship Baptist Church with Reverend Donnie Sherfey officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, Va.
