Judy Lavonne Roy Shifflett, 68, of Broadway and formerly of Elkton, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at her home.
Mrs. Shifflett was born July 23, 1956, in Buchanon, West Virginia to the late Gerald Roy and Betty Wotring Roy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Edward “Doodle” Shifflett, and a brother, Gary Roy.
She was a homemaker and was a seamstress at Elkton Garment Company for many years before retiring.
Mrs. Shifflett is survived by daughters, Shannon Shifflett of Shenandoah, Alma Babbit and husband, Gary of Broadway, and Jackie L. Myers and companion, Rafael Davis of Elkton; a brother, Jerry Roy and wife, Margaret of Port Republic; sisters, Pamela Merica and husband, Phil of Elkton, and Susanne Leighten and husband, Lee of Oregon; 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a number of adopted children, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, January 6, 2025, at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, with Pastor Terry Wyant-Vargo officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McGaheysville.
