Killed by lightening

Old country road

July 21, 1887 — A message from Mr. B.W. Petty, merchant at Grove Hill, announces that Mr. Hiram Kibler was killed by lightning on last Tuesday evening.

Mr. Kibler, in company with his son and another boy, were at the wheat stack on his farm when the fatal bolt descended. Both boys were also badly stunned, but are now recovering.

Mr. K. was about 45 years of age, and was an industrious and thrifty farmer, respected by all who knew him. He was a brother of Mr. Lewis C. Kibler, of Kimball.
