Larry Randolph Cook, 77, of Elkton, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at his home. He was born Friday, April 23, 1948, in Elkton and was the son of the late Virgil Lowell Sr. and Edna Rhodes Cook.

Mr. Cook had a lengthy career with Norfolk Southern Railway from where he retired after more than 40 years. Larry was a longtime member of Bear Lithia Springs Baptist Church and more recently a member of Church of Solsburg. He spent much of his pastime restoring vehicles, attending car shows, playing pool, playing his mandolin, deer hunting and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On November 4, 1967, he married the former Nancy Ann Shifflett, who preceded him in death on July 5, 2017. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene “Ray” Cook, Virgil “Cookie” Cook Jr. and a sister, Marie C. Scott.

Surviving are a son, Randy Cook and wife, Tina; a daughter, Kimberly Cook and companion, Seymour Davis, all of Elkton; his companion, Bonnie Dovel of Shenandoah; two grandchildren, Chelsey Cook and fiancé, Dustin Lam, Logan Cook; two great-grandchildren, Matthias Lam, Sutter Lam, all of Elkton, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2026, at Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton with Pastor David Burrell and Pastor Josh Shifflett officiating.

Friends may visit the family home at any time.

Arrangements are being handled by Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, Va.
