STANLEY — Homeowners looking to achieve a thriving lawn and garden are invited to attend an upcoming workshop, Managing Weeds and Pests in Your Lawn and Garden. Hosted by Virginia Cooperative Extension, the event will provide practical tips and techniques for managing common pests and weeds in a safe and effective way.
The workshop will cover a range of topics, including identifying common lawn and garden pests and the damage they cause, understanding the life cycle of weeds and how to control them, conventional and organic pest control solutions, safe pesticide handling practices, and proper watering and fertilization techniques for a lush, resilient lawn.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the speakers, ensuring they leave with actionable knowledge they can apply in their own gardens. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting out, you’ll come away with new insights and strategies for creating a vibrant, healthy outdoor space.
The workshop will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21 at 215 West Main Street, Suite C, Stanley. Pre-registration is required as space is limited.
