Age 91, Luray, Va.

Leo Davis, 91, of Luray, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

He was born on August 4, 1933, in Buchanan, VA, and was a son of the late Omar Davis and Virgie Mae Short Davis Lang.

Leo worked at the Virginia Oak Tannery for 24 years and in the maintenance department for the Town of Luray for 15 years.

Over the course of his lifetime, Leo attended numerous churches, but was Baptist by faith. In his younger years, he took great pleasure spending time with and teaching his children to fish. 

Leo was a hard worker and a devoted family man. He had a deep love for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On April 17, 1954, he married Betty Lou Good Davis, who died on March 18, 2023.

Leo is survived by two daughters, Donna Parlett of Luray, and Pat Davis of Stanley; a son, Ronald Davis of Luray; two brothers, Tommy Lee Davis of Stanley, and Randolph Junior Lang of Rileyville; four sisters, Virgie Ann Price of South Carolina, Peggy Jean Nelson of Louisa, VA, and Ruth Ann Atkins and Pauline Marie Knott, both of Luray; two grandchildren, Carrie Reel and Angela Schutt; and four great-grandchildren, Levi, Colton, Chase and Jacob.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Davis; two brothers, Homer Davis and Walter Edward Davis; one sister, Linda Mae Smith; and a granddaughter, Pamela Shifflett.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 17, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor Johnny Hawkins, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in the St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery in Stanley.
