Age 96, Elkton, Va.
Leona Mae Breeden, 96, of Elkton, passed away peacefully Monday, December 8, 2025 at her home with her family by her side. She was born May 19, 1929 in Elkton, Va and was the daughter of the late Frederick C. and Addie Lam Meadows.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward “Doc” Breeden; son, George Elmer Breeden; three brothers and four sisters.
Leona loved doing crossword puzzles, her Sunday dinners with her family and sitting on her porch. She was a member of the Church of Solsburg for many years. Leona retired from Alliance Manufacturing after many years of service. She loved to read her bible, gardening, yardwork and embroidering. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Leona is survived by her son, Roy Breeden and companion, Shawn Grimsley; daughter, Loretta Lam and husband, Kenny; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Breeden; sister, Lorraine Shifflett; brother, Fred Dewell Meadows; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special friend and mother of Roy’s children, Fonda Breeden.
A Graveside Service will be conducted 2 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2025 at Elk Run Cemetery with Pastor Carter Dean officiating.
