Leroy Curtiss Lancaster, 82, of Luray, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Page Memorial Hospital.
He was born on June 13, 1941, in Luray and was a son of the late Charles Curtiss Lancaster and Nola Mae Louderback Lancaster.
Leroy was a graduate of Luray High School and attended Lord Fairfax Community College. He owned and operated Lancaster Enterprises in Luray, which opened in 1975. He served on the Luray Town Council for 30 years, was past president of the Page Valley Fair Association, president of the Saturday Night Supper Club, and treasurer of the Broadhead Archery Club. He was a member of the Airport Authority Board, the Luray-Page County Chamber of Commerce, and was a life member of the Luray Volunteer Fire Department.
On January 26, 1962, Leroy married Bonnie Petefish Lancaster, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Mark Layne Lancaster, and Kim Lee Lancaster and wife Lisa, all of Luray; two grandsons, Matthew Lancaster and companion Lisa Atkins, and Logan Slade Lancaster, all of Luray; and his long-time employee, Stuart B. Atkins II and wife Wendy of Luray.
He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Patricia Lancaster.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Luray Volunteer Fire Department.
