Lewis Phillip Davis, 73, of Elkton, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. He was born August 24, 1951 in Rockingham County and was the son of the late Clyde H. Davis and Ruth Anniebell Davis, Davis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Mae Tolivers; brothers, Herbert, Clarence and Theodore Davis; sister, Zelma Turner and a baby boy, John.

Lewis graduated from Elkton High School in 1969. He worked construction as a laborer before going to work at Merck as a Chemical Operator for 38 years before his retirement. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Rafael Davis of Elkton, Chico Tolivers of Shenandoah; special niece that he helped raise, Tynecia Mitchell of Elkton; brothers, Cecil Davis, Seymour Davis, Leewood Davis and wife, Alice, Leo Davis and wife, Sonya, all of Elkton; sisters, Darlene Poindexter of Elkton, Sarah Haines and husband, George of Shenandoah. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to a very special friend who was there when Lewis first became ill, Ms. Deborah Dale and a special caregiver who took care of Lewis, John Mitchell.

A Funeral Service will be conducted 2 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Pastor Audre King officiating. A repass will follow after the service at the Elkton V.F.W. Post 9292, 13958 Spotswood Trail, Elkton, VA 22827.

Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the funeral home prior to the service.
