Age 80, Luray, Va.
Linda Marie Janes, 80, of Luray, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab.
She was born on April 17, 1945, in Washington, D.C., and was a daughter of the late Jerry Ormond Smith and Maddie Lee Sailor Smith. She grew up in a large family and is survived by Mattie (Judi) Kendrick and Robert Jackson Smith. She was preceded in death by Catherine May Holmes, James Wallace Smith, Billie Sue Ghormley and Walter Edward Smith.
Linda had worked at the Shenandoah Regional Lab in the data entry and technology department. She was a member of the Page United Methodist Church.
On April 6, 1963, she married Ralph Janes, who died on December 1, 2024. Ralph and Linda enjoyed raising and training therapy dogs, camping and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Janes and wife Melissa of Ashland, and Ralph Edward “Eddie” Janes of Germany; a daughter, Debbie Cubbage and husband Terry of Stanley; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab for the love and compassion shared during Linda’s time there.
A private family service is planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are being handled by The Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
