FRONT ROYAL — The Lord Fairfax Health District will be hosting a Safety and Wellness Day in Front Royal on Tuesday, Sept. 17. This will be a free event centered around health, safety and wellbeing to share information, demonstrations, and health screenings with the community members of Front Royal and surrounding areas.
Safety and Wellness Day is organized by the local health departments of the Lord Fairfax Health District, but is a joint effort of many community organizations and agencies within the Northern Shenandoah Valley. The event will be hosted on the football field at the Warren County Health and Human Services Complex at 465 W. 15th Street, Front Royal. The hours of the event will be 1 to 6 p.m. and activities and demonstrations will be occurring throughout the timeframe.
“September is National Emergency Preparedness Month. This event aims to provide valuable information about safety practices, health tips, and available resources to all community members. The Health District has brought together 30-plus organizations to most benefit those who are able to attend and make their trip worthwhile,” shares Olivia Watson, the Local Health Emergency Coordinator.
Agencies will be able to share information about their services and various aspect of safety and wellbeing in addition to many activities, demonstrations and screenings such as:
- • Stop The Bleed and CPR demonstrations
- • Naloxone (Narcan) training
- • K9 demonstration
- • STI, HIV, & HCV testing
- • Blood pressure check
- • Self-defense demonstration
- • Touch-a-Truck
- • Drunk Goggles & driving simulator
All are welcome and invited to join this free and family-friendly event organized by and for members of the community.
