LURAY — The Main Street Singers, Luray’s premier choral ensemble, announces auditions this Saturday for the upcoming 2026 season. Under the direction of Artistic Director Cathy Ashanky, the group brings together voices from across the Shenandoah Valley for a season of inspiring performances and community connection.
Auditions will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, at Luray United Methodist Church, 1 W. Main St., Luray. Appointments may also be scheduled individually.
Prospective members should prepare 16 measures of a favorite song (or allow the Director to select one). Auditions will last 10 to 15 minutes and include vocal scales, basic rhythm exercises, and sight-reading.
Rehearsals begin Tuesday, February 18, 2026, from 7 to 9 p.m., with the season culminating in three concerts scheduled for May 29, 30, and 31, 2026.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for singers who love music and want to be part of a supportive and talented group,” said Ashanky. “We welcome new voices to help us create a memorable season of music for our community.”
