Young group setting records to reach double-digit win season

LURAY — Mount Carmel Christian Academy’s varsity volleyball program is having an impressive season, marked by resilience, teamwork and momentum. The Lady Warriors are now riding a five-game win streak heading into the postseason and have officially reached a double-digit win season — a milestone not seen in recent years.

Tuesday’s high-stakes matchup against United carried heavy implications — not only was the District Runner-Up title on the line, but so was the chance to host a Region Quarterfinal. Rising to the occasion, the team delivered a commanding performance, taking the match in straight sets: 25-14, 25-23, 25-15.

What’s unfolding within the MCCA volleyball program is historic. This young team — made up of sophomores, freshmen, and even 8th graders — is breaking records and building something special. At the helm is lone senior Madison Lucas, providing leadership and experience that’s helping to guide this talented group to new heights.

The Lady Warriors will be hosting a Region Quarterfinal at 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13 at MCCA.
