LURAY, Nov. 25  — Mount Carmel Christian Academy’s Darbi Hunsberger has lead the Warriors to a strong start, averaging 16.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.6 steals.

At just five games into the season, MCCA’s girls varsity basketball team is showing signs that they’re ready to compete and sophomore Darbi Hunsberger is leading the charge.

Hunsberger had an offensive surge over her last three contests, averaging 20 points per game. However, the sophomore is stuffing the stat sheet and leading the team across the board in points, rebounds and steals.

Competing with Hunsberger is a talented young core, with several sophomores and freshmen rounding out this year’s roster. Despite their youth, the group is showing promise early and is positioning the Warriors as a program to watch as the season progresses.
