from the Page County Animal Shelter to showcase their personality.

This is our special son, Sam!

Sam is an older dog who came to the shelter as a stray that was in need of love and attention. He grew up out in the wild, not knowing when or where he’d have his next meal. As such, when he first arrived here he was very shy and scared of any interaction with people. However, he never showed any signs of aggression toward either us or other animals, and as he started to open up he showed us his silly goofball nature.

Sam is a distinctive dog with an unmistakable charm that sets him apart from other canines. His warm, amber eyes are always alert and brimming with intelligence, reflecting his gentle and curious nature. What truly makes Sam special is his remarkable intuition and empathy. He seems to understand the emotions of those around him, offering a comforting presence when someone is sad or anxious.

He is a very gentle dog and while he likes to play outside some, he mostly enjoys basking in the sunshine or curling up inside on his cozy bed. Sam is in need of a loving home who can afford to be patient with him and give him the love and affection he’s waited for his entire life.
