Michael Ray Martin, 72, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
He was born on March 19, 1953, in Luray and was a son of the late Ray Glenwood Martin and Nina Pearl Shaffer Martin.
Michael was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the American Legion, VFW, Moose Lodge, the Eagles and numerous other organizations throughout the Shenandoah Valley.
Michael is survived by two daughters, Michelle Ilona Nichols and husband Larry Jason Nichols of McGaheysville, Dawn Marie Morgan and husband James Baron Morgan Sr. of Mount Jackson; a stepdaughter, Teresa Hoover of New Market; two stepsons, Charles Hoover and Michael Hoover, both of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Peggy Diane Griffith of Luray, and Donna Paige Martin of Atlanta, GA; 12 grandchildren, Baron, Brennan, Ashley, J.J., Djinn, Corbin, Jeany, Benjamin, Charlie, Phedora, Jade and Natalie; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Serenity; a niece, Laura Newman; and a nephew, Kevin Newman; as well as Jeanette Teresa Dingman Martin.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Jean Newman; and a nephew, Todd Newman.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor Josh Parlett, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Comer-Jones Post 621 and the American Legion Post 22 of Luray.
