Nancy Jane Foltz Merica, 75, of Palmyra, formerly of Elkton, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025 in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was born August 19, 1949 in Harrisonburg, Virginia and was the daughter of the late John Page Foltz and Virginia Alberta Foltz Long.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Wayne Merica, Sr.; her son, Christopher Lee Merica; step-father, Hunter Long.
Nancy was a homemaker. She was a Stanley Home Products dealer for many years. She loved softball and basketball. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Mark Wayne Merica, Jr. and wife, Billi Jo (BJ) of Elkton; daughter, Marsha Merica and companion, Glenwood Neff (Bo) of Fort Defiance, Va; grandson, Jacob Merica and wife, Delanie; granddaughter, Hallie Merica and companion, Dean Whathen; great-granddaughter, Wrenlee Merica; brothers, John David Foltz, Gary Lee Foltz and wife, Debra, all of Shenandoah; companion, Darrell Dovel of Palmyra, Va; Darrell’s children, Amber Dovel and her children, Trista and Jerry Dovel, Derrick Dovel and wife, Amber and their son, Dillon Dovel of Shenandoah.
A Graveside Service will be conducted 11 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Merica Family Cemetery in Elkton, with Pastor Carter Dean officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, Va.
