Nathan Arvie, 69, died Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester, Virginia with his family by his side. Nathan was born on September 1, 1954 in Mamou, Louisiana to Anderson and Beatrice Arvie.
Nathan was in the graduating class of 1972 from Ville Platte High School, and he attended Grambling State University. Nathan married Bonnie Buracker on December 1, 2007.
He worked as a chemical technician at Dupont/Axalta for over two decades. He was an avid fisherman and family man. Other hobbies included cooking, spending time with family and his three beloved dogs: Attie, Duke and Jake.
Nathan is survived by his wife, Bonnie, and their six children, Kareem Doucet, Nathan “Magic” (Ashley) Arvie Jr., Charles “Chaz” Arvie, Stacy (Josh) Corbin, Leigh Ann (Jason) Pettit, Christopher (Cassy) Buracker; three sisters, Sharron Wiltz, Kitrell Frank and Andrea Alfred; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; four nephews; and one niece.
Nathan will especially be remembered for his big smile, excellent cooking and compassionate heart.
Nathan has requested that his ashes be spread at his favorite lake where he enjoyed fishing throughout the years.
