Neil Derrick Cash, 60, of Broadway, Virginia, and formerly of Elkton, passed away July 20, 2024 at his home.
Neil was born October 10, 1963 in Harrisonburg and was the son of the late James Cash and Patricia Shifflett Allman. He grew up in Elkton and was a 1982 graduate of Spotswood High School and was a member of the Upper Room Church in Elkton.
He enjoyed the game of softball, especially watching his grandchildren play. Neil liked to go coon hunting and he enjoyed listening to country music, especially the Lam Brothers who he grew up with. He had worked at Lakeside for many years. Neil was an awesome dad and grandad who will be missed by all those who loved him.
Neil is survived by his children, Chris Cash, Dakota Cash, Rochele Brown and husband, Hunter, Cheyenne Baker and husband, Eric; a brother, Michael Shifflett and wife, Debbie; sisters, Lisa Lohr and husband, Jeff, Teresa Shifflett, Beth Austin and husband, Greg; grandchildren, Claire Cash, Bailey Cash, Reagan Brown, Daxton Baker, Dreyden Baker, Boone Cash, Remington Brown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday evening, July 25, 2024 at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton.
Pastor Carter Dean will conduct a funeral service 11 a.m., Friday July 26, 2024 at the Assembly of God Church in Shenandoah. Burial will be private at a later date.
Gifts may be made to the Cash family to help with unexpected funeral expenses.
