New railroad to D.C.

HISTORY train Luray

November 7, 1889 — That Luray is to have a railroad direct to Washington seems to be only a question of time — and from present indications probably a very short time.

We are not prepared just now to give what seems to be reliable data on the subject.

A corps of engineers left Luray on Thursday morning for the purpose of making preliminary surveys of the route.

The prospect of the enterprise seems highly encouraging.

  1. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we still had train access to DC like Culpepper does? Now that would really be a boom to Page County economy.
